Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Articuly application for Android ("the App") collects, how that information is used, and the choices you have. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information we collect

Articuly does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address, or other personal details simply to work. The text you provide for reading or listening is processed locally on your device and is not uploaded to us as part of the reading experience.

We collect limited information when it is necessary to operate the App, improve it, or provide the optional services you choose to use:

• Analytics and usage data. When the App runs, we may receive anonymous statistics about how it is used (for example, which screens are opened and how the app performs), collected through standard analytics services.
• Crash and error reports. When the App experiences an error, we may receive technical diagnostic information, such as the type of device, operating system version, and the details needed to identify and fix the issue. This does not include the content of the text or documents you are reading.
• Advertising identifiers and device information. The free version of the App may display ads. Advertising partners may use an advertising identifier and basic device information to serve and measure ads. You can reset or opt out of personalized advertising at any time from your device settings.

2. Optional features you choose to use

Google Drive

If you connect your Google Drive account, the App is able to access the email address associated with that account and to list and open files you select so you can import them into the App for reading. Access happens only when you actively use this feature, and the files you import are processed on your device. Google handles your account and authentication under the Google Privacy Policy.

Feedback and support

If you choose to send us feedback, feature suggestions, or a support request from within the App, the message you write is sent to us along with basic technical details (such as device model, operating system version, and app language) so we can understand and respond to your request. This happens only when you actively choose to send feedback.

3. Advertising

The free version of Articuly may display ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use advertising identifiers, device information, and other data to serve relevant ads. Google handles this data under the Google Privacy Policy.

• You can reset your advertising identifier anytime from your device’s Settings.
• You can opt out of personalized ads by enabling “Opt out of Ads Personalization” on Android.
• Where required, we ask for your consent before serving personalized ads and you can change your choice at any time from within the App.

4. Subscriptions and payments

Articuly Pro is an optional subscription. Purchases and payments are processed entirely by Google Play and are subject to Google’s terms and the Google Privacy Policy. We do not receive or store your payment card details. The App receives confirmation that your subscription is active in order to unlock the Pro features.

5. How we use information

We use the limited information described above only to:

• Operate the App and provide its features on your device;
• Display advertising and measure its performance where applicable;
• Analyze usage trends to improve the App;
• Identify and fix crashes and errors; and
• Respond to feedback and support requests you choose to send.

We never sell your personal information.

6. Data storage and security

Your text, settings, and preferences are stored in the App’s private storage on your device, protected by your device’s security. The App does not back up this content to cloud services. Deleting the App removes this data from your device.

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we receive, and we limit the collection of data to what is necessary for the purposes described in this policy.

7. Children’s privacy

Articuly is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

8. Data retention

Content you create in the App is retained only on your device and is deleted when you delete the App or remove the content. Analytics and diagnostic information we receive is retained only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy.

9. Third-party services

The App uses services provided by Google, including Google Play, Google AdMob, Google Analytics, and (optionally) Google Drive. These services process data under their own terms and privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
